Filling A Christmas Shoebox

Today we had great fun putting a shoebox of goodies together for www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk run by Samaritans Purse.

Every year our school collect shoeboxes filled with small toys, clothes colouring things, notebooks and sweets and they are distributed to children in disadvantaged situations in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

We had great fun putting our box together, my two carefully chose some cars, little characters, a toy camera, felt tips and a notebook, spiderman socks, lots of different types of sweets and a little set of Bob the Builder books) and we wrapped it up in festive paper ready to take to school tomorrow.

  1. Thats such a worthwhile thing to do. We used to do similar things when our boys were little. Sounds like you have a fabulous fun filled box there, and whoever receives it, will be over the moon with it.

  2. We do one of these too, but I try and do an 'older' boy one after we had a talk at my son's old school by someone who said they have a lot less of this type than any other. It's a great to include the children in the gathering of items isn't it to teach them about giving to others.
